Virtual Comic Con!

Facebook Comic Con is an unofficial virtual comics, animation and media convention bringing together the robust community of industry professionals and fans registered on Facebook.

Facebook Comic Con aspires to give comics fans, creators, dealers and all industry professionals, a well deserved voice of prominence in the emerging communications network. To utilize Facebook tools in order to strengthen comics fandom within the global community.

Upcoming events will include interviews, panel discussions, costume competitions, script & portfolio reviews, film screenings, and more. Guests will include the grandest comics professionals in the field, most of whom are registered on Facebook.

We strive to transform Facebook Comic Con into a venue for all comics creators. To promote their work. And to help compensate for conditions which make it difficult for the many creators who find themselves not working in comics today. We believe that in as much as comics properties are on the rise in world culture, so must the lot of comics creators improve so that no one who's contributed to this industry is neglected.

We believe these goals are attainable within the emerging global communications systems, of which Facebook is a leading pioneer.

As an incentive to launch this effort and enlist as many fans and pros as possible, founder Michael Netzer is offering a free digital convention sketch to the first 1,000 members to register at the con and who request a sketch. Requests will be accepted as a wall post on events page for this offer, in this group. Sketches will be uploaded to photos section in low rez web format. High resolution files for printing will be emailed to everyone wishing them.

Talk it up and urge your friends, fellow comics fans and favorite comics professionals, in your friendly network, to join and attend Facebook Comic Con. Take part in celebrating this grand event for the comics community on Facebook.

Facebook Comic Con - Bringing a big day for the comics on Facebook!

Facebook Comic Con was inspired by Ed Reliuga.

Facebook Comic Con is a project now under construction, preparing for a grand gala premiere celebration on the weekend of March 12-15, 2009.

ABOUT FACEBOOK COMIC CON
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=47256529494

GALA PREMIERE | Thurs-Sun, Mar 12-15, 2009
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=49005654494&id=46479664897

GUESTS | Creators, professionals, journalists and promoters
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=47255529494

EXHIBITORS | Publishers, stores, dealers and organizations
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=47691619494

GUEST & EXHIBITOR REGISTRATION
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=63366131619&topic=7395

CREATE YOUR OWN GUEST & EXHIBITOR TABLE
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=49379994494

POWWOW HALL | Panels & Interviews
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=63942372515

PREMIERE COSTUME COMPETITION
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=48014919300

PORTFOLIO & SCRIPT REVIEWS
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=62560913342

PREMIERE PROGRAM BOOK | Workgroup
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=129354295205

GUEST LOUNGE | Closed area for guests only
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=61331624017

MEMBERS MEZZANINE | Open to all members.
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=59016592455

PRESS ROOM
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=51610092108

1,000 FREE SKETCHES
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=61680430615

Invite friends, comics fans and favorite comics professionals in your friendly network to join Facebook Comic Con and take part in the celebration.

I bought the complete collection of "Amethyst, Princess of Gem World" Comic Books (http://www.bluecherrydoughnut.com/amethyst/issue.php) as a Christmas Gift to myself this Holiday Season, and "Cloak and Dagger" are next on my list of back issues to buy (Happy Birthday to me)!
5. My favorite artist is Guitar Paintress, Pamelina H (http://www.pamelina.com/pamelina_001.htm), also Creator of my favorite work, "Blue Bird!"
6. I could easily become addicted to "Jewel Quest" and/or "Luxor" on Xbox 360 Live Arcade (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/livearcadexbox360/)!
7. I can't decide if I liked LOVED Neil Gaiman's "Stardust" or "Beowulf" (http://www.neilgaiman.com/) more this year? But, they must both accompany "Mirror Mask" and "Neverwhere" on my video shelf someday!
8. My last concert of 2007 will be the Van Halen "Reunion" at MGM Grand (http://www.mgmgrand.com/entertainment/grand-garden-arena.aspx), and my first show of 2008 will be Walking with The Dinosaurs at Thomas & Mack (http://www.unlvtickets.com/eventInfo/spe/141/walking-with-dinosaurs/). Interesting combination, I know!
9. I want to read, "The Bad Girls of Japan" (http://www.ucpress.edu/books/pages/10429.html) and "Beauty Up: Exploring Contemporary Japanese Body Aesthetics" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1403969477/102-8779291-4830512?=glance) by Linguistic Anthropologist, Laura Miller (http://www.luc.edu/anthropology/faculty/miller_l.shtml).
10. DeviantArt (http://rockitqeen.deviantart.com/) has become my favorite website!

I tag:

10.
